Diya , Jensi , Arnav , Tavish enter semifinals MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana Asia Oceania B1 Junior Tennis Championships

Pune, April 23, 2026: Diya Ramesh saved three match points to enter the girls semifinals alongside talented Jensi Kanbar while Arnav Paparkar and Tavish Pahwa entered the boys semifinal at the MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana Asia Oceania B1 Junior Tennis Championships organized by Maharashtra State Lawn tennis Association and Deccan Gymkhana in association with PYC Hindu Gymkhana and played on theDeccan Gymkhana tennis courts.

It was day of exceptional results for Indian tennis as four young Indian players continued their march into semifinals making it momentous occasion for the organisers

In a match lasting 3 hours and 26 minutes seventh seeded Diya Ramesh came back from being down 5-6 (40-30) and then saved 2 match points to level scores at 6-6 in the third set against Japanese Mai Sasaki Diya kept her cool to come out winner 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(1) and make it to the last four

The Chennai Girl Diya will take on another talented Indian Jensi Kanbar of Junagadh in the girls semifinal ensuring an Indian player presence in the finals .

The 15 year old Kanbar playing percentage tennis outplayed a higher ranked Japanese Yui Komada 6-1, 6-4.

Misaki Sekido of Japan and fourth seeded

Siyoen Sim of Korea will contest the other semifinals

Local boy and second seeded Arnav Paparkar was given a fight by South Korea’s Seung-Min Oh before winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Paparkar the local favourite will lock horn with another. upcoming Indian junior Tavish Pahwa ensuring presence of Indian player in the boys finals .

In the semifinals Tavish Pahwa played smartly to conquer the higher ranked Samarth Sahita 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In the other quarter finals matches Top seeded Hyu Kawanishi of Japan out hit South Korea’s Min Hyuk Cho 6-4, 6-3 and will take on another South Korean Junseo Jang who upset fourth seeded Jake Dembo of Australia 6-3, 6-3 in another match.
