Arnav, Samarth, Tavish, Jensi, Diya in quarter finals of MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana Asia Oceania B1 Junior Tennis Championships
Pune, April 22, 2026: Upcoming Indian juniors Arnav Paparkar, Samarth Sahita, Tavish Pahwa, Jensi Kanbar and Diya Ramesh entered the boys and the girls quarter finals at the MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana Asia Oceania B1 Junior Tennis Championships organized by Maharashtra State Lawn tennis Association and Deccan Gymkhana in association with PYC Hindu Gymkhana and played on theDeccan Gymkhana tennis courts.
In the second round played today second seeded Arnav Paparkar outpaced Indonesia’s Rafalentino Ali Da Costa 6-2, 6-2 while Samarth Sahita was given a fight by Japan’s Eito Komada before winning 6-2, 7-5.
Another Indian boy Tavish Pahwa created upset eighth seed Nikolas Baker of Australia 6-2, 7-6(8) to also make the last eight stage
In the girls section talented Jensi Kanabar outplayed her compatriot Deepshika Vinayagamurthy 6-3, 6-0 to make the last eight , seventh seed Diya Ramesh scored a 6-4,6-2 win against Japanese Lisa Anzai 6-4, 6-2 to make the quarterfinal
In a match of Indian interest Kazakhstan’s Eva Korysheva proved strong for local wildcard Parthsarthi Mundhe securing a 6-4,6-3 win and make it to the last eight . In the biggest upset unseeded Mai Sasaki upset top seeded Riyo Yoshida 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 in an all Japanese contest .
