Maya,  Vaidehee go down tamely at 25th edition of NECC Deccan Gymkhana 75K ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament  
 
Pune, February 9, 2026:  India’s upcoming junior Maya Rajeshwaran and  Vaidehee Chaudhari went down tamely in the opening matches at the 25th edition NECC Deccan 75KITF Women’s Tennis Tournament which is being organized by Deccan Gymkhana and sponsored by National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC)under the auspices of the ITF, AITA and MSLTA and played at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts.

Hibah Shaikh of USA outplayed Vaidehee Chaudhari 6-2, 6-4 while second seed Hanne Vandewinkel of Belgium proved strong for young Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi winning 6-2, 6-2 in just over a hour proving many chinks in the youngsters armor
     
Japanese Eri Shimizu was lucky to make it to the second round against Vaishnavi Adkar Adkar won the first set 6-7(10-8) and lost the second set 7-5 , local wildcard Adkar suffered a leg injury and retired from the match which was poised at 1 set all

Ankita Raina was the lone Indian to qualify for the Main draw scoring a 6-1 ,6-3 win over Shruti Ahlawat, in another match seventh seed Ekaterina Maklakova   Trounced Zeel Desai 7-5, 6-3 to qualify for the main draw. 

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Mr.Arvind Chauhan, Head, PR & Corporate Cummunication, NECC, Dr. Vikant Sane, Tournament Director and Tennis Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana, Mr. Mihir Kelkar, Hon Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana, CA Girish Inamdar, Finance Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana. Mr. Bipin Shah, Mr. Hemant Sathe, Mr. Jaydeep Date, Mr. Mukund Joshi, Tournament Supervisor Mr. Salah Massih, Leena Nageshkar were present on the occasion.
