Snighda, Hruthik are champions  at 20th Ramesh Desai Memorial under 16 Junior Tennis Nationals

Kolhapur, November 15, 2025:  Snighda Kanta of Karnataka and Hruthik Katakam of Telangana emerged  singles champions in the girls and the boys event at the 20th Ramesh Desai Memorial Nationals Junior Tennis Championships which is being organised by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and the Kolhapur District Lawn tennis Association KDLTA at the KDLTA Tennis complex in Kolhapur

In  the boys singles finals second seed Hruthik Katakam stopped the winning run of fourth seed Shivtej Shirfule of Nanded 6-2, 6-3; to win the title in the 

Girls finals top seed  Snigdha Kanta  came back strongly from the loss of the first set to stop tenth seeded giant killer 

Swanika Roy of Maharashtra winning 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 in a 2 hour match

Shirfule however won the doubles title as he tied up with Chandigarh’s Ribhav Saroha the second seeds upset top seeded pair of Hruthik Karakam and Laqshya Chukka of Andhra Pradesh winning 6-2, 6-3

In the girls doubles  Swanika Roy alongside her partner  Sanmitha Lokesh won the doubles title as they trounced the pair of  Zoha Qureshi and. K Nalyazhini  6-0, 6-3 to win the title 

The winner and runner up received trophy and certificate. The prizes were given away at the hands of Dr. Dinesh Kuttur, VP of KDLTA, Mr. Meghan Bagavade, Secretary of KDLTA, Mr. Shekhar Shinde, Mr. Bharat Patil, SS Momin and Tournament director Sheetal Bhosale. Tournament Supervisor Sejal Kenia were present on the occasion.
