AITA nominates Sunder Iyer as manager of Indian Davis Cup squad against Pakistan
Pune , November 22: Tennis Administrator Sunder Iyer has been nominated The All India Tennis Association as the manager of the Indian Davis Cup team against Pakistan to be held at neutral venue at Nur Sultan (Astana) in Kazakhstan on November 29-30 . The team which is undergoing a camp will leave Delhi on November 24 to acclamation for the tie which will be played on indoor courts.
India will have the legendary Leander Paes back in their squad after almost a year and would be supported by the likes of emerging sensation Sumit Nagal, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Sasi Kumar Mukund, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, Saketh Myneni, and Siddharth Rawat , Rohit Rajpal will be the non-playing captain while Zeeshan Ali will be the coach of the team.

Its very very cold (Current temp -22) in Nur Sultan and the primary aim will be to ensure our players will be fit and healthy in such cold conditions . Each and every player is a professional and knows to handle such situations but as an Manager it will be my duty ensure that the Indian Davis Cup team will face no problems and feel comfortable with someone looking after all their administrative issues during the tie”, said Iyer who is the Secretary of the MSLTA .
Iyer has been instrumental in getting back big time tennis to Pune and Maharashtra with events like the Davis Cup, ATP Challengers , WTA and ATP Tour events apart from Junior and Senior ITF Pro Circuit events. He was also appointed by AITA as the Tournament director of the National Games which will be held in Goa next year.
