Bhosale , Nitture, Gaikaiwari, Kurale and 48 others receive MSLTA Annual Awards
Mumbai, June 13: 52 top Maharashtra players and coaches including Fed Cupper Rutuja Bhosale, International Men’s Tennis player Arjun Kadhe, Girls under 18 National Champion Akanksha Nitture, Boys under 18 National Champion Sandesh Kurale, Mini junior Nationals Champion Asmi Adkar were awarded the MSLTA annual awards for their performances for the year ended 2021.
The annual awards were given away at the hands of Shri Sharad Kannamwar, Life president of MSLTA, Shri. Bharat Oza, President MSLTA, Shri Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary MSLTA, Shri Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, Shri Rajeev Deshpande & Shri Rajiv Desai, Hon. Jt Secretary & MSLTA Council Members Shri. Shiv More and Shri. Gaurav Kapadia were present on the occasion.
“We are proud of the achievements of our state players who have surpassed all expectations in terms of performances. In 2020-21 we had 21 players who won the Nationals or finished runner up in various Nationals conducted by AITA which is a record .The scholarships for players performances are a reward to players who have played for the country or have finished in top three in their respective events at the national and state level” said Mr. Sunder Iyer .
The top 3 players in each age group in the state were awarded scholarships worth over Rs. 12 Lac apart from the awards the players will also be given funds for international training. Pune boy Arnav Paparkar and Kolhapur girl Asihwarya Jadhav who have been selected in the ITF Asian touring Team to Europe were given Rs 50000 each.
Special Awards were presented to coaches Nandan Bal, Hemant Bendre, Sandeep Kirtane, Kedar Shah, Arshad Desai of Kolhapur , ASA Academy, Navi Mumbai , Prosonjit Paul, Supriya Mallaya, Ravindra Pandey and Mahesh Zambhare of Solapur for producing National Winner and Runner-up from Maharashtra in 2021-22 .
A Vision Program Camp was organised for the top group with Top sports scientists and consultants conducting Body composition & Nutrition, Fitness Test, Mental training tests at the newly operational MSLTA Sports Science center.
