State Girl Gargi Pawar lifts girls title at Ravine Hotel National Series Under 16 Tennis Tournament

 

Chandigarh's Hooda wins double crown

 

Panchgani, December 23: Chandigarh boy Krishan Hooda won a memorable double crown winning the boys singles and the doubles title while Pune girl Gargi Pawar lifted the girls title at the Ravine Hotel National Series Under 16 Tennis Tournament 2017 organised by Ravine Hotel Panchgani  at their tennis courts.

 

In a final the 13 year old top seeded Krishan Hooda who finished winner at  under 14 National Tennis Tournament in November took 40 minutes to register a 6-1, 6-1 tenth seeded Mohit Bondre 6-1, 6-1 to lift his second national title. Hooda also won the doubles title pairing up with Bhupender Dahiya,  they ousted second seeded Naresh Badgujar and Vansh Bhagtani7-6(6), 6-4.

 

In the girls section third seeded Gargi Pawar took 1 hour 30minutes to stop  a fighting her city mate sixteenth seeded and under 14 national champion Rutuja Chakalkar  6-2, 6-4 to claim the title. Gargi who trains with coach Hemant Bendre in Pune at PYC Hindu Gymkhana.

 

The prizes were given away at the hands of Amin Hajee, Actor of Lagan and Joda Akbar. Tournament Director Mr.Javed Sunesara and AITA Supervisor Vaishali Shekatkar were present on the occasion.
