The “Gadre Cup” ITF Junior tennis Championship will be held at Deccan Gymkhana from December 2 to 9

 

Pune, November 29, 2017: The Gadre Cup ITF Junior Tennis Championship tennis tournament has received an overwhelming response. Deccan Gymkhana will host the tournament between December 4 to 9. The qualifying rounds will begin from Saturday, December 2 and the main draw begins on Monday, December 4.

 

The tournament is supported by Gadre Premium Sea Food which is held under the aegis of International Tennis Federation (ITF), All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and is a part of the biggest junior ranking tennis series conducted on the Inter-National circuit.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arjun Gadre, Managing Director, Gadre Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd., said, “Gadre Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd. is proud to sponsor the “Gadre Cup” in succession. This is our opportunity to encourage and nurture young and talented players from across the country. Since last two year we were part of national tournament. In the ITF’s junior structure, International tournaments are biggest in stature, which helps gain more ITF points for Indian players, while playing on home courts. These ITF points can boost their confidence as well as carrier graph.

 

Mr. Sudhir Ranade, Tennis Secretary, Deccan Gymkhana Club, said, “After the success of last two years Gadre cup, we have seen an increase level of the tournament. This tournament over the years has proven to be an excellent platform for city juniors. Objective of Gadre Premium sea food to sponsor and Deccan Gymkhana to host the tournament is to support and encourage players to pursue their Professional career in sports remains the primary objective.”

 

Mr. Ranade added, we would like to thank Mr. Arjun Gadre and Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary, MSLTA for adding an international junior event in Deccan Gymkhana club’s calendar. It will help to players as well as tennis fans to witness international level sport.

 

The singles winner will receive 60 ITF points, while the runner-up will receive 45 ITF points. The semifinalists receive 30 ITF points, while all quarter-finalist gain 15 ITF points. In the doubles event winner will receive 50 ITF Points, runner-up will receive 30 ITF Points, semifinalist will receive 20 ITF Points and quarter-finalist will gain 15 ITF Points.
