Maharashtra girl Chapalkar wins double crown at MSLTA Yonex Sunrise under 14 National Tennis Tournament

 

Chandigarh's Hooda Lifts Boys title

 

Aurangabad, Nov 4: 13 year old Rutuja Chapalkar won a memorable double crown winning the girls singles and the doubles title while  Chandigarh boy Krishan Hooda lifted the boys title at the MSLTA- Yonex Sunrise under 14 national Tennis Tournament being organized by Endurance Marathwada - MSLTA tennis Center (EMMTC) which concluded at the divisional sports complex, Aurangabad.

 

In a well contested  final the 13 year old Rutuja who finished runners up at the Fenesta Nationals in October took 1 hour 30 minutes to register a  3-6,6-1,6-1 win over top-seeded Sudipta Kumar to lift her first national title , Rutujaa eighth standard of DES English Medium School Pune won the doubes title with Naisha Srivatsav

 

Rutuja who trains with coach Kedar Shah in Pune , lost her way after 3-3 in the first set as Sudipta played flawless tennis , but the bespectacled Rutuja regrouped  to claim the next two sets to win the national championship.

 

In the boys section top seeded Krishan Hooda of Chandigarh took 1 hour ten minutes to stop   a fighting second seeded  Udit Gogoi of  Assam 6-1,7-5 to claim the under 14 title

 

The prizes were given away at the hands of  Mr.Varsha Jain Madam (M.D.Endurance Group), Mr. Anil Iravane (Head Corporate Affairs Endurance), Harshal Sharma (Endurance Group), Touranament Supervisor-Vaishali Shekatkar, , Physio - Dr. Ashwini Jaiswal, Center head- Asutosh Mishra, Pravin Gaisamudre, Gajendra Bhosle & Varun Mangikar. were present on the occasion.
